Works!

Easy to set up. Did catch a large smelt with this setup. More importantly it didn’t snag unlike the hi low rig (where I fish there’s a lot of rocks).

Description

No Snag Fishing Rig- Slip Float Rig- Advanced Saltwater Fishing Rig Tutorial (How to tie and use)

Learning to use the float rig is a great addition to your fishing skill set. It is perfect for fishing deeper channels with moving water. It features a slip bobber, which allows you to set the depth at any time, without retying your rig. Fixed bobbers are a challenge to cast if they are attached to the line more than a few feet from the hook.

This greatly limits what you can do with them. The slip bobber solves many problems fishermen have with a fixed bobber. We learned how to use a float rig while fishing for salmon and trout in the streams/rivers in Upstate NY. This skill translated very well for us while fishing down the coast to Florida when we were looking for fish in the marshlands and moving currents. We hope that this lesson can give you a great skill that can be applied anywhere you fish.
