Refund & Return Policy
At HeySkipper Fishing, we stand behind the quality of our gear. Because of the nature of our products, all sales are final — but we’ve built in a few fair exceptions so you’re never stuck with something that arrived damaged, spoiled, or just doesn’t work out.
1. Defective or Spoiled Items (Full Refund or Replacement)
We will issue a full refund or free replacement, your choice, for:

Salted bait that arrives spoiled. Spoilage must be reported within 3 days of delivery, with a photo of the product showing the issue.

Rods with a manufacturing defect. This covers issues present at the time of delivery — broken guides, cracked blanks, faulty reel seats, etc. Defect claims must be submitted within 30 days of delivery, with a photo or short video showing the defect.
To file a claim, email [support email] with your order number, photos, and a brief description. We do not require you to ship the item back for spoiled bait claims. Defective rod claims may require return shipping, which we’ll cover.
2. Changed Your Mind? (Restocking Fee Applies)
If an unused, unopened item simply didn’t meet your expectations, we’ll still take it back — within 30 days of delivery — subject to:

A 15% restocking fee (calculated on item price, not shipping)

Customer-paid return shipping

Item must be unused, in original packaging, with all tags and labels attached
To start a return under this option, email orders@heyskipperfishing.com with your order number. We’ll send return instructions and confirm your refund amount before you ship anything back.
3. What’s Not Eligible
The following are excluded from the 10% restocking-fee return option above (they’re still covered under Section 1 if defective/spoiled):

Salted bait and other perishable items

Items marked Clearance or Final Sale

Items that have been used, rigged, cast, or show signs of wear
4. How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned item (or, for spoiled bait, within 5–10 business days of approving your photo claim). You’ll get an email once your refund is processed.
